Description:

Join Sonic Healthcare as a Graduate Biomedical Engineer in Bowen Hills, QLD, ensuring optimal performance of diagnostic instruments.

Your role

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting of laboratory diagnostic instruments and automation systems.
  • Assisting with the deployment and integration of new equipment in laboratory settings.
  • Responding to technical issues and ensuring prompt resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Maintaining accurate service records, including inventory, service orders, and reports.
  • Adhering to Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) policies and compliance regulations.
  • Providing technical support and training to customers and stakeholders.
  • Contributing to process improvements and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Participating in training programs, including self-learning and hands-on experience.
  • Supporting on-call duties as part of a rostered system to provide 24/7 customer support.
  • Traveling as required for customer support and national training events.

About you

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A valid driver’s license and permanent work rights in Australia.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows environments, with knowledge of LIS systems, Middleware Solutions, Linux, CAN-BUS, and interfacing principles being advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering principles to real-world challenges.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate strong self-organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • A commitment to high service quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
