This position will be advertised under the former Department of Energy and Climate while establishment changes are finalised*Join CDSB as a Director in our Strategy, Planning and Performance team, where we are transforming government customer service delivery and digital and data leadership, supported by innovative, agile and collaborative corporate services. We are looking for a leader to engage both in and outside the department promoting a culture of best practice, performance and accountability. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating and leading whole-of-department and whole-of-division activities, processes and reports.
Strategy, Planning and Performance is part of the broader Strategy, Performance and Digital team. We work closely with the department's Executive Leadership Team and provide services to internal and external stakeholders. This role is a key strategic position aimed at positioning CDSB as transforming government customer service delivery and digital and data leadership, supported by innovative, agile and collaborative corporate services.
This business area operates to enhance CDSB's capacity to influence across the Queensland Government, identify opportunities, act as an agent of change, build CDSB's strategic policy and planning capability and improve performance on major initiatives.
The Director, Strategy, Planning and Performance works closely with the Executive Director, Strategy, Performance and Digital, and the broader Corporate Services Senior Leadership team to provide high level strategic, timely, independent advice on policy, strategy, planning and performance matters which impact on CDSB's service delivery and organisational responsibilities.
In this role you will demonstrate leadership and engage both in and outside the department promoting a culture of best practice, performance and accountability. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating and leading whole-of-department and whole-of-division activities, processes and reports.
As the Director, Strategy, Planning and Performance, your responsibilities will include:
- Effectively designing and managing whole-of-department strategic and operational planning, performance measurement and reporting activities
- Establishing a portfolio management approach for strategic programs and projects, aligned to government priorities
- Providing high level expertise and advice to the Executive Director, Deputy Director-General, the Executive Leadership Team and senior departmental staff regarding high level, time sensitive information and projects
- Developing effective partnerships and networks within the department and across government that support the objectives of the projects the role is involved with, including leading and actively participating at various meetings and working groups
- Leading the delivery of key policies and frameworks, including risk management, complaints management, and human rights
- Establishing and overseeing effective governance frameworks and practices which support the Director-General and Executive Leadership Team to deliver on CDSB's vision and purpose, and meet its Government obligations, including audit and risk and internal audit oversight
- Effectively coordinating intergovernmental relations activities for the department, including being a point of contact for central agencies and liaising with departmental areas to develop portfolio responses
- Leading a reporting and insights function that contributes to the decision-making process of the Executive Leadership Team
- Effectively lead whole-of-division initiatives and activities as required, including establishing divisional processes in accordance with departmental and whole-of-government requirements
- Leading the departmental preparation and response to key activities, including Estimates Hearings, Annual Reports, Service Delivery Statements, and Committee Hearings.
