As Director Arnhem your primary objective is to provide effective leadership and management of work units across the Arafura and Arnhem Regions ensuring professional standards and ongoing improvements by influencing recommendations to develop, implement and evaluate the Agency’s policies and procedures and to ensure compliance in accordance with relevant legislation including, though not limited to the Care and Protection of Children Act 2007, the Public Sector Management Act 2012 and the Financial Management Act 2014.
Your key duties will include managing operational statutory service delivery to achieve quality practice and compliance, establishing and maintaining strategic alliances, and contributing to the development, implementation and review of business plans to achieve strategies and mitigate risks. In addition, you will provide high level support to the Executive Director in the effective leadership and coordination of emergency and recovery operations.
To meet the challenges of this strategic role you require, tertiary qualifications in social work or psychology, eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body and extensive experience in the delivery of statutory welfare services. Highly developed oral and interpersonal skills supported by excellent written communication, the ability to interpret and apply legislation, think strategically and experience exercising financial and human resource delegations are essential.
