The Role

This is a very diverse role, spreading across all the facets of Human Resources and provides a great opportunity for someone looking to get their first start in the HR field.

You will report to the Head of HR and play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day HR functions assisting with recruitment, onboarding, HRIS management, admin tasks, compliance, employee engagement, communication and general administrative tasks ensure our team feel valued and supported.

This role is available on a part-time or casual basis depending on the individual applicants current commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the recruitment process, including phone screening, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and reporting on recruitment progress.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Perform document verifications to ensure compliance with role-specific requirements.
  • Maintain and update the HRIS systems with accurate candidate and employee information.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a supportive and culturally aligned workplace.
  • Assist with managing the HR inbox and supporting various HR workflows and administrative tasks.
  • Support initiatives that promote continuous cultural improvement and employee wellbeing across the organisation.
  • Project work including policy writing, documenting HR procedures, and implementing HR plans.
  • Support with Occupational Health and Safety initiatives and administrative requirements.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Need

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with people at all levels of the business and manage sensitive and confidential information with tact professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Able to work independently while remaining open to guidance and support.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working in a professional environment or related field in HR.
  • Proficiency with any HRIS.
  • Good understanding of Australian workplace relations laws, HR best practice and industry trends.

Supplementary requirements

  • Driver's License, preferred (due to the location of our office).
  • Background checks, including Australian National Police clearance check.
  • All candidates must have the right to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis, to be considered for this role.
