CareWays Community has been providing services to the community for more than 35 years through in-home care and support for the elderly; Neighbourhood Centres and Youth Services.We are currently seeking passionate, proactive, friendly and those with a caring nature to join our team as a Care Worker, providing assistance to our aged care clients in their own homes. This position is based in the Illawarra.
About The Role
This position reports to the Care Worker Supervisor and provides a range of services to our elderly clients to support them to remain in their home. These services can include domestic assistance, personal care, social support, shopping, respite and transport to appointments.
The ideal candidates will be available Monday through to Friday, working 25hrs+ per week and its a bonus if you can work until 8pm (even if it’s one day per fortnight). Weekend work not required unless you request to join our weekend rotation roster.
The Successful Candidate
To Be Considered You Must Have
- Certificate III in Individual Support, aged care or disability and 500hours experience in home care and/or residential.
- Completion of Bachelor of Nursing degree (first year) is also suitable.
- Current first aid certificate
- Monday to Friday availability working 25+ per week
- Driver’s licence and reliable car with full comprehensive insurance
- Smart phone and basic understanding of how to use apps
- Basic knowledge in using computers and emails
- COVID Proof of Vaccination (including first booster)
- Clear Criminal history check.

Position is subject to award conditions under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 as Home Care Employee Grade 2/3 ($31.64 -$32.67 per hour).
Phone, uniform and laundering allowance provided as well as travel time between clients and kilometres ($0.99 per km).
