Maryborough Full-day Full-time

Description:

Adecco is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client—an international leader in advanced manufacturing and rail technologies—for an experienced Quality Control Manager to support the launch of a state-of-the-art production facility in Maryborough. This is a rare opportunity to shape quality operations from the ground up and play a key role in one of Australia’s most exciting rail projects.

About Us

Our client has recently secured a major contract to deliver critical components for rail traction systems, previously manufactured offshore. As part of this strategic shift to Australian-based production, they are establishing a brand-new manufacturing facility in regional Queensland to produce converters and motors for rail applications. With production set to commence in Q3 and customer deliveries from Q4 onward, this is a foundational hire in a facility that will scale to a 20-person team across assembly, testing, quality, warehouse, and engineering functions.

Responsibilities

Based onsite in Maryborough (Fraser Coast)—approximately 3.5 hours from Brisbane—you’ll lead the quality function and play a hands-on role in adapting global quality systems to the local operation. This is a collaborative environment with high-performing professionals who value integrity and teamwork over politics. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Establish and implement local quality control systems using global frameworks as a foundation.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks across every stage of manufacturing, including incoming goods, in-process assembly, testing, and final release.
  • Own and lead the Quality Management Plan (QMP), including all audit and compliance activities.
  • Drive supplier quality initiatives, working closely with procurement and engineering teams to ensure supplier development and conformance.
  • Support the deployment of quality metrics, KPIs, and tools to monitor and continuously improve performance.
  • Champion a strong culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement across the team.

Your Profile

This role is best suited for a Quality professional from a manufacturing or electronics assembly background, ideally with experience working on motors, converters, or related equipment. You enjoy working in fast-moving, collaborative environments and are motivated by the opportunity to build quality systems from scratch. We’re looking for:

  • Experience in quality management systems (QMS) and QA/QC practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and experience with root cause analysis in a Lean environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; capable of influencing and guiding others.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and quality control systems.
  • Understanding of HSE principles, compliance, and risk management.

What's on Offer?

This is a unique opportunity to join a greenfield operation at the ground level and play a key role in shaping its success from Day 1. You'll be part of a globally respected business that’s bringing advanced manufacturing back to regional Queensland. The role offers flexible working arrangements, with core office hours and some work-from-home flexibility. A competitive salary package is on offer, along with relocation assistance provided on a case-by-case basis, which may include flights and temporary accommodation support.

How to Apply?

If you’re excited by the idea of building something meaningful, improving Australian manufacturing capability, and being part of a supportive, tight-knit team—this role is for you.

Apply now with your CV, or reach out to Christopher.Prosser@adecco.com.au for a confidential conversation.

Pre-employment checks include reference checks, medical and verification of work rights.
