Description:

We are seeking a Test and Commissioning Engineer for a 9-month contract role with Alstom, working on a project with BHP in Pilbara, WA. This is a FIFO position, with a rotating roster of 8 days on and 6 days off.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review technical documentation such as test plans, test specifications, test procedures, and reports.
  • Coordinate testing activities and resources, ensuring quality, timing, and cost objectives are met.
  • Prepare test methods and perform both static and dynamic tests on train sets according to agreed procedures.
  • Analyse test data and logs, create test reports, and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage faults and issues identified during testing, collaborating with project experts and contractors for resolution.
  • Create test logs and NCRs, ensuring follow-up and resolution.
  • Adhere to technical, process, and HSE-related procedures throughout the testing phase.
  • Act as a liaison between the engineering team in Australia and international design and project functions, such as safety, testing, and commissioning teams.
  • Track progress against the schedule, highlighting key issues and risks.


Your Profile

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Electronics/Electrical) or Cert III Licensed Electrician with experience in testing and commissioning.
  • Proficient in English, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical skills and prior experience in Test & Commissioning (T&C) or V&V activities for signalling projects, preferably with locomotive ATP (ETCS) integration.
  • Ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders from both technical and managerial perspectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including communication with suppliers, customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Ability to communicate via radio and follow instructions from Test Managers.
