- Temporary part time opportunity until April 2026, working 19.5 hours per week
- Salary commencing at $35.41 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation (commensurate with experience)
Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a customer focussed individual to deliver friendly and efficient café services to patrons of Crown Street Stables. Crown St Stables Café provides support to vulnerable community members via the Crown St Stables traineeship program and the ideal candidate has café experience and an interest in supporting our community.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced barista with experience in all aspects of hospitality and café management to make a real difference in the local community.
Responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with the café team, and the Crown Street Stables Coordinator to implement high quality customer service to meet the individual needs of our diverse clientele.
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Crown Street Stables Café.
- Work collaboratively with Café staff to set a high standard of customer service, food safety standards and menu planning.
- Preparing and assembling sandwiches, wraps and other simple meals.
- Store and serve food in accordance with Crown Street Stables Café Food Safety Plan.
- Ensure all relevant health and safety practices are established and adhered to.
- Demonstrated experience in a café environment with the ability to work unsupervised in a busy customer service environment.
- Experience working with community members and an understanding of the issues they may face.
- Current Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
- Barista qualification and Level II First Aid is desirable.
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people both internal and external to the Café.
