Description:
Do you have an interest in inventory management? The mission of this role is to keep products on the Amazon website available in our Fulfillment Centres in the right quantities for customers. You will operate at scale, managing tens or hundreds of thousands of individual products across multiple product categories, so you will need to embrace our automated proprietary systems as much as possible. Global stakeholder management is a critical part of this function, working closely with technical teams who develop and deliver the systems we need. You will also work with peers in other countries, sharing best practice and collaborating on projects. At the same time, you also need to be adaptable because we don’t get every system we want, requiring us to create our own offline solutions to manage inventory. To be successful at this, we are always inquisitive and that usually starts with extracting data ourselves and then deep-diving and troubleshooting. We are recruiting for a highly analytical individual to oversee forecasting, vendor ordering and management of inventory levels. You will acquire the technical expertise to assist the commercial teams to navigate their inventory outcomes and demystify our buying systems for them. Finance and Operations are other key partners. Your primary deliverable is measured through product availability but you also track and take action on overstocks. To succeed in this, you will also connect with our vendors.
We are looking for a broad skill set including strong relationship management and negotiations skills, analytical confidence, excellent business judgment, deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for helping create a world class shopping experience for Amazon’s customers. You must be willing to challenge the status quo in order to help improve existing workflows and processes to enhance the customer experience. You must have sufficient presence and communication skills to represent our team across departments, including leadership.

A day in the life
Your day is filled with a variety of tasks and responsibilities centered around optimizing inbound supply chain operations and enhancing the customer experience.A key part of your role is collaborating cross-functionally with stakeholders across the business. You meet with vendor management, operations, product management and other retail teams to discuss implementing new automation to streamline supply chain processes.
Data analysis is also a critical component of your day.
