An opportunity exists for a Weighbridge Operator & Administration Assistant to become part of our team; Australasia’s largest co product stockfeed team. This is a casual role and will suit someone wanting to work school hours/3 days a week. Hours and/or days could increase depending on operational requirements.
Castlegate James has been helping Australian and New Zealand farmers and animal nutritionists achieve optimum livestock production targets through a range of high performance, specialty co– product stock feeds. Castlegate James products are mainly directed at the ruminant feed market, dairy and beef cattle, sheep, and goats. Our product range includes major grains, protein meals, manufactured moist feeds, traditional grain mixes, sugar/starch/energy mixes, pellets and an extensive range of co-product stock feeds which have been sourced from the food and beverage industries around Australia.
This role will be in Ballarat. Reporting to the Victorian Manufacturing Co-ordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of procurement, production and despatch activities at the Ballarat Production Centre.
The position requires you to Provide a consistent, high quality customer service for all clientele (both external and internal) with particular emphasis on timeliness, accuracy and proficiency
Your responsibilities will include:
- Be the first point of call for the Weighbridge; Ensure all transport movements both in and out of the site are weighted across the site weighbridge with all drivers given accurate direction through site and hold a valid site-specific induction.
- Ticketing of loads - Ensure all raw materials, co products and consumables being delivered into the site have accurate documentation and are entered into D365 in a timely and accurate manner. Ensuring any alterations on unloading are recorded on all copies of delivery documentation.Provide clear and concise communication surrounding weighbridge errors with site managers.
- Provide consistent, high quality customer service for all clientele (both external and internal) with particular emphasis on timeliness, accuracy, and proficiency. Ensure all telephone calls and customer inquiries are dealt with in a polite, friendly, and professional manner in a timely style.
- Ensure all orders are entered promptly and accurately into D365 as they are received confirming correct quantities and ensuring all freight charges are added.
- Co-ordinate and administer the sales / dispatch within D365 for the site and ensure goods are dispatched promptly having the correct documentation and recorded in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure the office including stationary, office supplies & staff amenities are well stocked and tidy.
- Assist the Manufacturing Coordinator & Ballarat Site Manager with other tasks as required.
You will have the experience and skills
- 3+ years in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- A hands on/can do attitude
- Very good understanding of Stock Control, Stocktake accuracy, timeliness and variance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills, including well developed Excel and Word skills
- Experience working with D365 would be an added advantage
- Ability to manage a schedule, keep detailed records and achieve specific objectives within specified deadlines.
- To have some understanding of nutrition or the agricultural industry.
