About You
Whitsunday Anglican School is seeking applications from outstanding educators in the Art field who are committed to providing high-quality education in support of the ethos of the School. Cognisance of the Australian Curriculum is highly desirable, as is inspiring a love of learning, both inside and outside of the classroom, where each student can attain their personal best, whilst promoting high standards in a caring environment. An ability to contribute to the School’s thriving co-curricular and Outdoor Education programme will also be advantageous. As a Specialist Teacher in Art your teaching load may be across a range of primary and secondary year levels.
Candidate Profile
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (graduates are welcome to apply).
- Registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
- Preferred experience and passion in teaching primary Visual Arts with the ability to implement a variety of art skills, develop a scope and sequence of techniques across year levels and promote student creativity and engagement.
- Intentional in developing and promoting visual arts opportunities for students in the School and externally
- Desire to work as part of a collaborative team environment with the abiity to relate well to staff, students, parents and the broader community.
- Demonstrated high-level organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated use of initiative, with the ability to anticipate the needs of a School organisation.
- A genuine passion for teaching and visual arts.
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills, who has the ability to engage and inspire.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
