About the role:

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals facing social disadvantage, behavioural, developmental, social, and protection issues. You will provide practical and emotional support, helping clients develop life skills, improve confidence, and work towards their goals.

This role involves working with young people who have experienced significant trauma. You will provide trauma-informed care and assist in managing challenging behaviours using therapeutic approaches and positive behaviour support strategies. Applicants must be able to demonstrate resilience and strong professional boundaries for this position.

We encourage applicants who are experienced in working with young people who have experienced trauma and/or disabilities or have transferable skills from roles supporting vulnerable individuals with challenging behaviors to apply.


What you'll do:

  • Supporting young people to m anage emotions, develop coping skills, and build resilience.
  • Supporting clients to attend medical appointments and manage medications.
  • Managing challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
  • Helping clients to build independence, self-esteem, and life skill s.
  • Writing and maintaining reports, including case notes, incident reports, and behavioural documentatio n.
  • Upholding safety policies and following care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
  • Providing personal care and daily living assistance ( budgeting, shopping, meal prep, hygiene, cleaning, home management ).
  • Assisting clients with c ommunity access and social activities.

Essential requirements

  • Hold, or be willing to enrol in an industry-standard course and work towards achieving a minimum Cert IV formal qualification.
  • Hold or are eligible to obtain an LCS check, blue card and yellow card.
  • Minimum P2 d river’s licence with no restrictions.
  • Unrestricted work rights within Australia.
  • Flexible to work over a 24/7 roster ( ability to commit to 1 sleepover shifts per week ).
  • Computer-literate.
