Key Responsibilities
  • Champion and uphold safe work practices for yourself and others, ensuring full compliance with site-specific and statutory OHS requirements. Promptly report and respond to incidents in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Systems (EI&C), automation, software, and IT solutions across a range of industries.
  • Ensure engineering designs meet all relevant Australian and International Standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct site-based activities, including inspections, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and project teams, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous development.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and refine engineering solutions.
  • Prepare, review, and approve comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, reports, calculations, and drawings, as required.
  • Manage project deliverables, budgets, and schedules, ensuring quality outcomes and adherence to agreed timelines.
  • Ensure all engineering changes are properly managed through formal change management procedures.
  • Support business development through client engagement and proposal development activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and drive innovation in engineering practices within the company and the broader industry.
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or Software Engineering.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering or Management are highly regarded.
  • Professional certification such as CPEng, Functional Safety, and EEHA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical and instrumentation engineering, ideally within the mining, energy, or industrial sectors.
  • Proven experience in engineering across the full project lifecycle – including studies, front-end engineering design (FEED), detailed design, and site construction/commissioning.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian and International Standards relevant to electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Expertise in HV and LV electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, and control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and clearly with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Practical experience in site-based roles, including commissioning and troubleshooting.
  • Solid understanding of electrical compliance and safety management systems in the Australian context.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and deliver outcomes efficiently.

This role is Perth base, candidates must have full working rights in Australia.
