About the role:
Are you an experienced Registered Nurse looking to make a meaningful impact in the community while enjoying a healthy work-life balance? KinCare has the perfect opportunity for you!
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Community RN in Melbourne. As a KinCare community nurse, you'll play a vital role in providing high-quality, holistic care to our elderly customers within the comfort of their own homes. You will support customers in maintaining their independence through comprehensive in-home assessments and tailored care solutions.
With travel required across all parts of Melbourne, you will deliver a range of clinical support services including wound care (acute and chronic wounds), compression therapy, stoma care, continence assessments and recommendations, catheter management (IDC/SPC, male and female), and medication/injection administration. You’ll also conduct nursing, cognitive, and dementia screening assessments using tools such as PAS, AMT, and RUDAS, while providing ongoing health monitoring.
Working closely with families, General Practitioners, and the KinCare team, you'll ensure a holistic approach to our customers' well-being, addressing their physical, emotional, and social needs.
Due to existing customer arrangements, you must be able to work, either:
- Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week
or
- Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays each week
About you:
- Full AHPRA registration
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
- Driver’s licence with a reliable and insured vehicle
- Genuine interest in working in the community and with the elderly – experience in community nursing would be ideal
- Strong clinical skills, including wound care, catheter and stoma care, continence and cognitive assessments
- Ability to work autonomously
- Compassionate, professional, kind, engaging, empathetic and helpful
- Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Double COVID vaccinated and willing to undergo a functional assessment
