Zagame Security Group has been providing security services to the La Trobe Valley, Sale, and East Gippsland for over 25 years. Our core business activities include Static Guards, Patrols, ATM Maintenance, Cash In Transit, Event Security, Crowd Control, Armed Guards, and Alarm Response and Monitoring.
The business has a clear strategy for further growth within the regions we currently service and beyond. As a result of this continued growth, ZSG is now seeking an experienced and highly motivated, Operations Manager to manage the day-to-day operations across all of the regions we operate and service.
This is a Senior-level appointment that will report directly to the Managing Director.
The role will primarily be based at our Traralgon office, with some travel required to our other locations from time to time.
Key Responsibilities of the role are:
- Manage the day-to-day operations across multiple sites
- Lead and develop a performance-driven culture focussed on safety, service and excellence
- Mentor and coach direct reports and the broader team
- Manage relationships with customers and third-party suppliers, ensuring that we deliver on the services we are contracted to perform, and looking for opportunities to grow the business relationship
- Collaborate with the Accounts Manager and Business Development Manager
- Provide input into operational budgets, and measure performance against an agreed set of KPI's
- Assist in the development of company's strategic plans from an operational perspective
- Planning, organising, directing and controlling the activities of all security guards, including shift supervisors
- Preparation of rosters, security detail assignments and payroll records
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures for implementation across all sites
- Monitor and report on the performance of security against agreed business plans and contract requirements. Identify and implement improvements in a cost-effective manner
- Monitor all incident and patrol attendance reports, ensuring accurate and effective handling and initiating of the investigation process, including liaison with police where required
- Monitor crime and incident trends, legislative changes and industry best practice
- Conduct audits of security management activities including random audits of guards across shifts
- Develop, document and implement training programs to ensure all staff have attended training sessions as required by contracts that we enter into
- Participate in the development and management of Workplace Health & Safety in the workplace
- Conduct staff induction, on-the-job training and mentoring for all new staff
Knowledge Skills and Experience
- Excellent knowledge of site security, building management and the application of standard operating procedures
- Must be responsive, with a strong sense of urgency
- A genuine value and understanding of customer delivery and customer relationship management
- Possess a passion and have achieved success in leading, coaching and developing teams
- Experience in identifying, documenting and implementing process improvements
- Ability to identify and eliminate revenue leakage from operational processes
- Demonstrated experience in workforce planning
- Commitment to OHS management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly and comfortably communicate with all levels of staff and customers
- Confidence to work autonomously
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Certificate IV in Security Management
- First aid certificate, or willingness to obtain
