About the Role

  • Leadership of a team spread across offices, Bendigo, Yarraville and Broadmeadows.
  • Work through implementation.
  • Support young people leaving care find and maintain stable housing.
  • Housing First joins our suite of programs, Better Futures and Home Stretch.

Your role and the program:

Housing First is an innovative new program providing young people leaving care with the opportunity to transition to independent living. Our case managers will work with young people to stabilise their housing, build independent living skills and set themselves up for a better tomorrow.

As the Team Leader you will have the ability to role-model self-development behaviours and foster the development of others; lead through example; promote civic-mindedness; and champion continuous improvement and initiative strategies.


The skills you will need to support young people in the program:

  • A relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, welfare or related discipline and experience.
  • A trauma informed practice lens.
  • A person-centred approach, which supports the young person to make and be responsible for their own informed life choices.
  • Tailors support to the needs of the young person.
  • Leadership skills.
  • The agility to lead remote teams through online supervision.
  • The ability to assist young people to transition from care to (supported) independence through the establishment of safe, stable, and secure housing and support.
  • The position requires leadership of people in multiple locations which will require travel across the region.

Make it work:

  • Full time, permanent position.
  • Salary in line with SCAHDS level 7.2 starting at $117,473 plus super.
  • Salary packaging is available up to $15,900 plus a Meals/Entertainment benefit so you keep more of what you earn.
  • This role is based at our Bendigo office.
