Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.

In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About Mental Health Division:

Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.

Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the local government area of Merri-bek, Hume, Darebin and Whittlesea.

Adult Community Mental Health Services are provided at Broadmeadows, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

About the Role:

If you are looking to work in a rewarding role and make a real impact on people lives, an exciting opportunity exists for suitably experienced mental health clinicians to join the ACIS function in the Adult Mental Health Community teams at Hume (Broadmeadows), Merri-bek (Coburg) and Noogal Clinic.

The positions work predominantly shift work within the Acute Community Intervention Service (ACIS) Function of our community team providing acute assessment and intervention to consumers and their families/carers in both an in-reach and outreach capacity.

Roles are available for:

  • Community Mental Health Clinicians (Grade 2 Occupational Therapist/Social Worker/Clinical Psychologist or Grade 3 Registered Mental Health Nurse)
  • Senior Community Mental Health Clinicians (Grade 3 Occupational Therapist/Social Worker/Clinical Psychologist or Grade 4 Registered Mental Health Nurse)

The Community teams are supportive and dynamic public mental health teams made up of staff that are truly passionate and motivated in supporting consumers and their families/carers.

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the northern metropolitan region.

It is an exciting time to join the community teams, as we implement our new model of care, which includes Outpatient Clinics, an enhanced clinical stream and a group program.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • The appropriate qualifications as a Psychologist, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Registered Mental Health Nurse.
  • At least two years’ experience post qualification for mental health clinician roles.
  • Least 7 years’ experience for senior roles providing assessment and intervention for consumers with a serious mental illness.
  • Passion about contributing positively to the lives of consumers with mental illness and their families.
  • Experience in the provision of Psychiatric assessment and intervention for consumers with a mental illness - preferably in a public mental health setting but this is not essential.
  • Ability to provide general and discipline specific mental health assessment and intervention.
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also able to work autonomously
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
