Coolendel Camp is looking for a dynamic individual or couple to manage one of NSW's most beautiful ecotourism business.
Coolendel Camp is a stunning riverside campsite wrapped by 3km of majestic Shoalhaven River, with 10 vast camping areas to choose from. In addition to camping, the property offers cabins, glamping tents as well as hosting school groups, festivals and other events.
Coolendel’s guests swim in the river during the day and relax by a campfire at night while watching the wombats wander by. Activities also include fishing, kayak hire and bush walking. All with the luxury of hot showers, clean toilets,rubbish disposal and a handy store that provides all the camping essentials. The property is situated 3h south of Sydney and located near the town of Nowra.
Applicant’s skills should include
- Experience managing a tourism business
- Qualification in tourism management
- Emotionally intelligent and good management skills with experience of managing a small team
- Great at customer service to maximise accommodation bookings and retail sales
- Be proactive, positive and an open communicator
- Have an attention to detail and the discipline to follow and reporting protocols
The Role
Your role will include a multitude of different tasks but the bulk of your workload will include a variety of the following :
- Responding to booking enquiries via phone, email and over the counter face to face interactions
- Welcoming guests on arrival for their check-in & briefing them on park safety
- Retail sales in camp shop
- Monitoring & briefing staff to do cleaning, housekeeping, rubbish removal & other tasks
- On Board and train new staff
- Coordinate with external trades to repair, machinery, plumbing, electrical and other utilities
- Daily reporting to owners to track and set daily and long term goals
- Operate web-based booking platform and operate shop point of sale
- Procure stock from our set providers to ensure the shop is stocked with all required products.
- Monitor systems to ensure the provision od water, power, gas and other property utilities
- Customer facing interactions to positively problem solve complaints and other questions

Accommodation:
Our manager/s will live onsite with accommodation provided. The accommodation is furnished & includes all utilities, power, water & wifi etc
The Business Structure:
Our Manager/s will work remotely to maximise profit , customer enjoyment & safety . The owners are actively involved in the day to day running of the business in addition to managing the finance, insurance, risk mitigation, marketing & other business disciplines.
Role Structure:
- The Manager to be onsite a minimum of 5 days per week & be on 24h call for emergencies
- The role will require the manager to work all the busy seasonal holidays periods
- The role is a flexible 7 hr per day with extended hrs on Fridays for late check-in’s
- The role requires a minimum 1 year commitment
