About The Role

This role will report directly to the Production Manager and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, maintaining, and enhancing safety and training activities to support operations at Whitehaven Coal’s Maules Creek mine site. The Training Coordinator will be employed under standard 5/2 with RDO.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide specialist Safety and Training advice to the Mining Department management and employees.
  • Supervise the coordination of the Mining Department Safety and Training Function
  • Develop, manage, evaluate and report on the budget for the Training Function
  • Develop business cases as required for implementation of identified improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate trainee and labour hire operator selection and on-boarding.

What You’ll Bring

  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Experience in leading and developing a training team
  • Knowledge of the risk management, safe work practices and statutory requirements required to create and maintain a safe work environment
  • Experience in mining is preferred
