Job Description
Fitzgerald River National Park is one of the largest and most botanically significant national parks in Australia. Within the park are found nearly 20 per cent of Western Australia’s flora species, many of which occur only within its boundaries.
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Operations Officer to join our Albany District team.
Under the limited direction of the District Manager, you will be responsible for the management and administration of the East Mt Barren work centre, the Fitzgerald
River National Park (FRNP) and departmental operations within other departmental land and unallocated Crown land in the shires of Jerramungup and Ravensthorpe.

Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total.

Considerable ability in natural resource management including environmental, recreational, fire, and reserve management.

Demonstrated experience of high-level leadership, supervisory, works program planning, and human resource management skills, including the ability to conduct performance development and management reviews.

Evidence of demonstrated interpersonal skills, and experience in effective liaison and negotiation with other government agencies, industry, stakeholders, indigenous groups and community interest groups, with a preference for someone willing to work with Aboriginal people and having an awareness of their culture.
- Demonstrated experience in, and knowledge of administrative and financial management, including budget preparation and expenditure control.
Applicants who meet essential criteria 2 and 3 will be particularly well regarded.
