About the role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dedicated and busy Devonport workshop. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be assisting with the repairs and maintenance of SeaRoad’s Group of companies’ facilities and equipment.

Key responsibilities of this role include: -

  • Trouble shooting and repairs of all types of equipment and components
  • Ensure appropriate Standard Operating Procedures are applied at all times
  • Ensure all completed jobs are accompanied by complete and proper service reports
  • Ensure duties are carried out efficiently and accurately
  • Performing correct safety procedures at all times
  • Ensure that the surrounding work area is clean and safe at all times

About you

To be considered for this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Recognised and accredited Australian trade qualification
  • Possess a high level of diagnostic ability/experience
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance to a high standard
  • Have knowledge of Safe work practices, be compliant with WorkSafe and Company Policies
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment
  • Possess a positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt
  • Possess a positive work ethic
  • Technologically literate
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also autonomously
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Right to work in Australia
