About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced person to join DonateLife SA’s dedicated team, playing a pivotal role in the organ and tissue donation process across South Australia. In this rewarding and deeply meaningful position, you’ll provide expert clinical nursing or midwifery support, coordinating end-to-end donation and retrieval processes as part of a statewide hospital donation service. You’ll work closely with hospital teams to identify potential donors and help facilitate informed, compassionate decisions through access to the Australian Organ Donor Register (AODR).

As a Donation Specialist Nursing Coordinator, you’ll lead the implementation of the National Clinical Practice Improvement Program (CPIP) and End-of-Life Follow Up Service in collaboration with SA hospitals. Your role also involves educating and supporting healthcare professionals to promote best practice in organ and tissue donation. About You

You are a compassionate and experienced registered nurse with a passion for making a difference in organ and tissue donation. You thrive in high-pressure clinical environments and are committed to best practice, leadership, and patient-centred care.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a minimum of three years post-registration experience.

  • Strong clinical leadership skills , with demonstrated ability in communication, problem solving, team collaboration, and change management.

  • Proven resilience and adaptability in complex, time-critical situations, including the ability to manage sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, clinical standards, and best practice principles related to organ and tissue donation.
