The School
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic College, Alice Springs, caters for students from ELC to Year 12 with students located across three campuses: ELC to Year 4 at Bath Street, Year 5 to Year 8 at Traeger and Year 9 to Year 12 at Sadadeen. The College is a systemic Catholic school responsible to the Northern Territory Catholic Education Office, in the tradition of the Marist Brothers, under the auspices of the Catholic Diocese of Darwin. It is a member of Marist Schools Australia.
The Campus
The Bath Street Campus of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic College caters for students from Transition to Year 4. As a Catholic College, we celebrate the message of Jesus Christ, placing great importance on our Christian values and celebrating an environment that embraces the importance of ensuring our school environment is: safe and nurturing, continually fostering a sense of belonging and promoting an educational climate conducive to learning. Religious Education is taught along with all the key learning areas prescribed by the Australian Curriculum.
The Position
The Head of Campus together with the Principal is responsible for providing quality educational leadership in the areas of Catholic Identity, Leadership, Teaching and Learning, Pastoral Care and Wellbeing, Community and Culture and Finance Facilities and Resources.
Essential Criteria
A Catholic who is an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community - if circumstances warrant it, we will accept applications from a person of faith who is an active member of their community and is committed to Catholic values and participation in Catholic Worship;Ability to lead a Faith Community;Demonstrated competence in his/her capacity to promote, enhance and integrate the religious dimension of a Catholic school into all facets of school life;Eligible for registration with NT Teacher Registration Board;Evidence of educational, pastoral, theological and managerial aspects of school leadership;Ability to work in leadership and administration as a team member;Ability to facilitate the planning, implementation and evaluation of sound educational policies and practices;Ability to communicate effectively with the whole school community as well as with the wider community;Ability to facilitate change/or be an agent for change to meet the priorities of the learning community.
