We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Field Mechanic to join our team. In this field-based role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment on-site. This is a hands-on position, requiring a proactive approach to ensuring that our fleet and machinery remain in optimal condition and continue to perform at their best.

The position is field based operating on a DIDO/FIFO 3:1 or 2:2 roster.

Responsibilities include:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, and other machinery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks and services.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and repair engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and more.
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency calls in the field in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other team members and management to ensure the smooth running of operations.

The successful applicant will be required to have the following:

  • Trade Certificate in Heavy Duty or Automotive Mechanics.
  • Proven experience in a similar field mechanic role.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • White Card (Construction Induction).
  • Valid driver’s license (HR or higher preferred).
  • Experience working with road haulage and heavy plant equipment.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites and work flexible hours as required.
