Ideally located on the turquoise shores of Roebuck Bay, just minutes from downtown shopping and famous Cable Beach, Mangrove Hotel is one of the most picturesque places to stay in Broome. The hotel’s beautifully manicured lawns and lush tropical gardens create an idyllic setting against the sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean.
We are seeking an experienced and proactivecasual Handy Person to assist with general property maintenance.
Responsibilities:

• Presentation and upkeep of guest rooms and public areas (general plumbing, carpentry, painting and patching work)
• Ensure the overall appearance and presentation of the Hotel grounds and gardens are kept to the highest standards.
• Knowledge of general swimming pool maintenance.
• Liaising with contractors
• Provide garden care and maintenance to a large and varied garden and grounds area
• Presentation of highly detailed/quality gardens
• Maintain and keep safe all paths and roadways
• Weed control, pruning, hedging, mulching, mowing, irrigation
• Assisting guests as required.
• Undertake any additional reasonable tasks as outlined by your manager.

Requirements:

• Ability to work variety of shifts including weekend and public holidays.
• Solutions focused.
• Be proactive in order to give optimum guest satisfaction.
• Use machinery, equipment and tools correctly and in a safe manner.
• Respond quickly to maintenance calls, where possible rectify the fault.
• Current driver’s License
• High grooming standards and personal presentation
• OH&S awareness
• Work well with others aiming to reach the mutual goals of the hotel at all times.
• Highly motivated with an exceptional attention to detail
• Hotel or resort experience preferred but not essential.
