Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
The National Disability and Insurance Agency (NDIA) is seeking candidates to fill EL1 Assistant Director vacancies.
The Strategy Branch leads and delivers highly complex and significant outcomes, projects and work programs that have a strategic and operational impact. It is responsible for addressing critical issues of wider Agency impact including leading teams and integrating multiple perspectives to develop solutions to Agency problems.
As the EL1 Assistant Director, you will be supporting the Management of the Strategy Branch within the Service Design
Division. You will be required to coordinate and assume responsibility for highly complex, sensitive projects or work programs aimed at achieving the NDIA's mission to 'build a world-leading National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The position is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the NDIA to advance the NDIA's interests across a range of forums.
Duties include but limited to:
  • Collaborating with and supporting business areas to structure problems, inform options and drive solutions and Agency-wide priorities.
  • Gathering and developing structured insights and recommendations for strategic projects.
  • Creating materials for senior internal and external stakeholders, including the Minister, Board and Executive Leadership Team to communicate perspectives, recommendations, and implications for the Agency.
  • Presenting recommendations and facilitating discussions with a range of Agency stakeholders and senior leadership.
