Description:

The Director Finance Business Partnering role leads a team providing financial analysis, insights and strategic advice for Austrade's Executives and General Managers on Finance related matters. The candidate must have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, build effective relationships across finance and the broader business to ensure organisational best outcomes, proactively identify and secure relevant support and provide timely information. They also must have extensive experience in budgeting, analysis, identifying variances and tailored forecasting to the business Groups.
The Director Finance Business Partnering applies and maintains an extensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the division to identify emerging issues and risks and their implications. We are looking for a results-oriented person who is highly organised, trustworthy, loves ambiguity and has excellent communication skills. Ability to develop good networks across Austrade and knowledge of and/or experience in Finance Business Partnering is essential.
The key duties of the position include
  • Develop trusted relationships with Executive and General Managers in Austrade
  • Analyse variances from budget to understand key drivers for any changes; Consolidate actuals and compare this to enterprise budget on a recurring basis
  • Consult, collaborate and direct enquiries and issues to subject matter experts across finance and Corporate Services, manage client relationships with the DECOs, General Managers and executive support staff
  • Understand key business drivers and incorporate into forecasting / modelling for greatest accuracy
  • Develop domain financial plans, monitor performance and outcomes
  • Lead a team and provide coaching and development opportunities
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities and drive improvement in financial acumen across Austrade
  • Lead a team providing general accounting services, including journals for accruals, cost transfers, costings etc.
  • Regular engagement with CFO to update on reporting, and develop / update financial plans
  • Collaborate with other Finance leaders to develop financial insights and consolidate reporting.
