The Opportunity
This role forms part of the Contract Management Directorate, which is responsible for delivering the construction commercial advisory and contract management services for transport project delivery, to ensure quality outcomes for the South Australian public.
The Site Engineer is responsible for the supervision of major road, bridge, building and maintenance works undertaken by Contract or other resources to enable the works to be carried out efficiently, on time, within budget and to the required standard resulting in the achievement of Agency program objectives.
A key focus of the role is site surveillance and contract administration, including the assessment of claims, preparation of variations and progress payments and assisting in the preparation of contract documents for technical project specific requirements.

QualificationsA Degree in Engineering providing eligibility for graduate membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia. The successful candidates will be appointed at the classification level commensurate with their qualifications, skills and experience.
Special Conditions
The successful candidates will be required to provide a National Police Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
A current Driver’s Licence is essential.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Tenure of Vacancy
Temporary appointment up to 12 months - Multiple vacancies.
Remuneration
PO1 - $68,478 to $78,613 pa + superannuation.
PO2 - $88,255 to $97,667 pa + superannuation.
