We’re looking for a passionate and community-minded Financial Counsellors to join our team in Alice Springs. Lutheran Care also provides a financial literacy program, emergency relief and financial counselling to Alice Springs, including town camps and remote communities within the Central Australian service area.
We currently have an exciting job opportunity for multiple Financial Counsellors to provide high level and confidential financial counselling and education to clients, whilst building financial resilience for vulnerable people through information, education and promotion of our services.

About the Role:
The Financial Counsellor will provide confidential financial counselling and education to clients, aiming to build financial resilience among vulnerable populations.
This includes:
- Offering high-level financial advice and education.
- Collaborating with the Financial Wellbeing team.
- Promoting financial literacy and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Assessment and Support: Provide accurate financial information and support. Prepare financial statements and plans for clients, negotiate with creditors and advocate on behalf of the clients while empowering clients through improved financial management skills.
Professional Development: Maintain qualifications through professional development and attend clinical supervision as required.
Service Delivery: Ensure high-quality, best practice support to clients. Deliver timely triage and emergency relief services and produce and submit reports on time.

- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Ochre Card
- National Police Clearance
- Diploma of Financial Counselling or willingness to obtain
