Employment Status Permanent, Part-time
Employment Arrangement 17 hours per week, working Monday and Friday each week.
Salary Range Commencing from $34,014.24 pro rata salary (Grade 8, Step 1) plus 11.5% Superannuation. The successful candidate will have access to step increases based on competency assessment and tenure within the position.
Council Overview
Strathfield Council is a medium sized Council located in Sydney’s Inner West. The area of the Council comprises approximately 14 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 46,000 residents, which is growing at 2.5-3% annually. Based on NSW Government projections, the population will increase to over 80,000 by 2036.
About the Role
This part time Customer Service Advisor position provides high quality customer service, both face to face and on the telephone, on a daily basis to meet customer needs. Acting as the initial point of contact in welcoming customers, responding to enquiries/complaints and in gathering and providing relevant information
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Experience in customer service, call centre or reception experience.
- Highly developed: oral and interpersonal communication skills, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Strong interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills.
- A proven ability to manage challenging customer behaviour, problem solve and resolve complaints.
- Excellent office administration skills such as organisational and time management, high computer skills and ability to learn/adapt to new programs and applications.
- Corporate Records Management understanding.
- Demonstrates proficiency with a wide range of computer software and hardware, adapting quickly to new technologies. Able to troubleshoot and manage digital tools.
- Knowledge of or experience in local government (Desirable).
- Experience in CM10 and Authority will be highly regarded (Desirable).
- Experience in working at Council issuing parking permits (Desirable).
- Formal training in customer service delivery and/or administration (Desirable).
- Justice of the Peace (Desirable).
