• Continuing position • Part time (.8 FTE) • La Trobe Bundoora campus Location • HEO6 About the position The Sustainability Advisor will play a critical role in embedding sustainability principles across the University’s operations, bringing a high level of knowledge, strategic insight, and practical problem-solving capability to the position. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Sustainability and Campus Planning team, situated within the Master Planning, Sustainability & Services (MPS&S) unit of the Asset Transformation Division, the role will contribute to the delivery of sustainable outcomes across all University campuses. This includes engagement with staff, students, contractors (our Partners), development partners, local communities, and government representatives. The Sustainability Advisor is expected to work collaboratively across functions within the Division, contributing to cross-disciplinary initiatives and promoting a culture of sustainability, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the University environment. Skills and Experience To be considered for this position, you will have • Degree in a sustainability and/or environmental science related field with subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and principles learned. • Demonstrated depth or breadth of expertise developed through extensive relevant experience and application. • Demonstrated ability to gain a conceptual understanding of relevant policies, procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent. • Ability to innovate and take responsibility for outcomes. • Demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and efficiently and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
