Description:
The Football Program Support Officer at Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA) and Sutherland Strikers is responsible for delivering a range of football programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing participation, player development, and community engagement. This role involves overseeing social football competitions, talent identification programs, coach education, and administrative tasks to support the growth of football in the region.
Key Responsibilities
Social Football Programs
- Coordinate and manage the Social Football programs in conjunction with the Operations Manager, Head of Football and Head of Academy, ensuring high participation and smooth operations.
- Support planning, implementation, and oversee all football programs outside of the winter competition, focusing on community engagement and high-quality football experiences.
Player Development
- Support the implementation of the Strikers Individual Development Program (IDP) to support player skill improvement and performance.
- Facilitate Talent Identification initiatives to identify and nurture emerging talent in collaboration with coaches and selectors.
Coach Education and Development
- Assist with coordination and administration of the Miniroos Coaching Course, ensuring high standards and effective training delivery.
- Maintain and manage the Coach Education Calendar, organising workshops, courses, and events to upskill local coaches.
Competitions and Events
- Assist with the planning and execution of the Sutherland Shire Chaos Football Cup, including scheduling, logistics, and participant communication.
- Support and contribute to the success of the Strikers Holiday Academy, ensuring a high-quality experience for participants.
Trials and Administrative Support
- Assist with the Sutherland Strikers Trial Process, including planning, communication, and administrative support for smooth operations.
- Perform administrative tasks related to football development programs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage uniform fit outs for players and staff, including coordination of sizing sessions, ordering, and distribution.
- Provide logistical and operational support for Academy programs, including equipment management, communications, and venue coordination.
- Support a wide range of administrative duties for the Sutherland Strikers, including database maintenance, scheduling, and communication with players and families.
Skills and Personal Attributes
- Strong organisational and time management skills to oversee multiple programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with players, coaches, and community stakeholders.
- Proficiency in managing football-related software and databases.
- A passion for football and community development.
- Ability to manage detailed administrative and logistical processes efficiently.

Essential Requirements
- Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
- Experience in coordinating football programs or events
- Minimum Coaching Qualification of C Diploma or working towards
- Knowledge of player development pathways and grassroots football structures.
- Strong administrative and project management skills.
- Valid Working with Children Check
Desirable Criteria
- Sports Management / Business Degree
- First Aid Certificate
- Sports Marketing / PR / Communications Degree
- Current Provide/Perform CPR
- Drivers Licence
