About the role
We are delighted to announce that we are inviting applications for the role of Trainee MMU Operator based at our Deer Park Quarry sites .
Our Trainee MMU Operators form part of a team with significant blasting experience. A safe, high-performing, and supportive environment to enable each employee to succeed in their job role. As a valued team member, you will be specifically trained and supported to perform duties within our blast crew, as a bench assistant, and eventually operate an MMU (Mobile Manufacturing Unit).
An MMU is a highly advanced, heavy-rigid vehicle fitted with the latest technologies and onboard computer systems. It is used to pump explosive products into pre-drilled blast holes on our customer sites.

What you will be doing
- Demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: “Safety is our Priority, always” at all times acting with integrity and respect;
- Operating blasting plant and machinery and assisting with preventative maintenance;
- Working in the field with your teammates to assist with the 'hands-on' delivery of explosive products down predrilled blast holes at quarry sites;
- Working outdoors in a physically demanding environment;
- Providing excellence in service to our valued customers;
- Daily administration and customer interactions when required.
What you will bring
- A current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s license is preferable;
- Demonstrated previous experience working outdoors in all weather conditions in a physically demanding environment;
- The ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening;
- A motivated self-starter, positive, team-based attitude where you look out for your mates;
- A basic mechanical comprehension would be highly regarded.
