Is this the role for you?
The Risk Manager is a senior role dedicated to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Ricoh Australia’s (RAP) risk management framework. This position ensures effective identification, assessment and advisory on mitigation of risks, aligning with organisational goals and legislative and stakeholder requirements. This role will provide leadership and expertise across the organisation to build RAP’s capability to manage risk at a best practice level. You will also take the leading role for the APAC insurance renewal and management process.
Key objectives include:
- Leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk management framework for RAP.
- Providing expert risk management advice to support decision-making to deliver on RAP’s strategic initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements and stakeholder needs.
- Fostering a risk-aware organisational culture by enabling proactive risk identification into RAP’s operations and mitigation.
- Leading the APAC insurance renewal process, supporting claims and queries from APAC Opco’s and insurance agents. Represent APAC Region on the Ricoh Global Insurance Committee
Key Responsibilities
Develop and Implement Risk Management Framework:
- Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of RAP’s enterprise risk management framework, policies and processes.
- Ensure the integration of risk management controls and strategies into business planning, decision-making and project execution to protect the business while reducing financial, legal and reputational impact.
- Maintain RAP’s Risk Register, ensuring risks are documented, assessed and regularly reviewed. and include the identification of emerging risks.
Strategic Risk Advisory:
- Identify emerging risks, industry trends and opportunities, proposing strategies to address them proactively.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align risk strategies with broader organisational goals.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on RAP’s risk profile.
- Collaborate with legal experts to align risk management practices with regulatory expectations.
- Conduct audits and reviews to identify potential risk management weaknesses and implement corrective actions.
- Support leaders and teams in identifying, assessing and mitigating risks to achieve business objectives.
- Lead the function to facilitate meaningful risk workshops and provide oversight for the development of tools and training to improve risk management capabilities across RAP.
Monitor and Report Risk Activities:
- Establish systems to monitor risk trends and their potential impact on objectives.
- Regularly report on risk status and advise on mitigation effectiveness to Executive Leadership and the Board.
- Prepare and present risk reports tailored to varying levels of stakeholders, from operational teams to strategic decision-makers.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with legal, operational and relevant internal teams to ensure holistic risk management.
• Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing to promote a unified approach to risk mitigation.
APAC Insurance Lead:
- Represent APAC Region on the Ricoh Global Insurance Committee
- APAC Lead supporting insurance queries / claims from internal / external stake holders (APAC Opco’s, APAC Regional Office and RCL HQ)
- Lead the annual APAC insurance policies renewal process engaging with RC HQ, APAC Opco’s, insurance agents

To be successful in this role:
Key Selection Criteria
- Proven experience in designing, developing and implementing risk management frameworks, including guiding policies, plans, procedures, assurance programs and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of the application of Australian regulatory requirements and risk management standards
- Extensive expertise in collaborating with and advising project stakeholders, executive leadership teams and Boards to identify, analyse and review key risks, issues and controls.
- Extensive experience in preparing reports, papers and overarching risk and dashboard analysis for ELT and Board risk committees.
- Proven ability to embed risk management within a complex project environment, establishing, driving and influencing a risk-aware culture that enables effective decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including experience engaging with executive stakeholders and boards.
- Tertiary qualifications in risk management, business, law or related field; professional certifications in risk management are highly regarded.
