SeaLink Marine & Tourism - Sydney Harbour
Are you hands-on, mechanically inclined, and ready for a change of scenery—one with sweeping harbour views and a dynamic maritime environment? SeaLink Sydney is seeking a Marine Maintenance Allrounder to join our shoreside maintenance team.
About the Role
This is your chance to apply your mechanical skills to something extraordinary: keeping our fleet of iconic vessels safe, reliable, and running like clockwork across Sydney Harbour.
You'll be a key player in the ongoing maintenance and servicing of our vessels, working alongside an experienced and supportive maintenance team under the leadership of our Head of Fleet Maintenance. You will ensure our vessels remain safe, compliant, and operational.
A typical day in the role may include:

Assist with carpentry and shipwright work, as needed.

Perform basic fiberglassing, welding, and mechanical repairs.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify mechanical and engineering issues.

Conduct servicing and general repairs across a variety of systems, including diesel engines, auxiliary systems, and hydraulic equipment.

Provide excellent service and support to skippers, engineers, and crew.
This role suits someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys hands-on work, and can adapt to flexible hours when required.
About You
You’re a hands-on, mechanically minded allrounder with experience in mechanical servicing, welding, and general maintenance. Comfortable with marine diesel engines like Scania and Cummins, you also bring basic carpentry and fiberglassing skills. You take pride in quality work, enjoy solving problems, and are always keen to learn and improve.
Qualifications
- Certificate in Mechanical Trade or MED (essential)
- 2 years or more experience in a mechanical or marine environment (desired)
- Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications (desired)
- Senior First Aid (desired)
