  • Base Salary $108,557 - $118,267 (pro-rata based on 35-hour week) + 17% superannuation,

About the opportunity

The University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH) is a collaborative academic hub for rural health development, located in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales and is a joint venture between the University of Sydney, Western Sydney University and the University of Wollongong and operates in close collaboration with the Northern NSW Local Health Network and all providers of health services on the NSW North Coast.

The UCRH education program encompasses the disciplines of Allied Health, Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry and Medicine, providing students with clinical placement opportunities and structured learning programs in a multi-disciplinary environment, and an immersion in the elements of rurality and social equity.

We have 4 part time positions available in the Northern Rivers located at Grafton, Lismore, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquaire. You will be working under the supervision of Associate Professor Christopher Williams . The positions will be located within the Northern NSW and Mid North Coast Local Health Districts in collaboration with the physiotherapy departments at each site.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • provide high-quality physiotherapy services for HeLP-R clinical trial interventions, using critical thinking and evidence-based practice to tailor interventions to patient needs

  • implement and support a model of care for chronic musculoskeletal conditions (back, hip and knee pain), collaborating with the research team on operational objectives and data collection

  • assist in developing and delivering resources for patient support, such as brochures and community programs, via the GoShare online platform

  • participate in meetings, discussions, and administrative tasks related to the HeLP-R clinical trial and associated research projects.

About you

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.

  • APHRA Registration as a Physiotherapist

  • Proficiency in datacollection, analytical and problem-solving skills, computer literacy, and numeracy.

  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities, attention to detail, and effective planning and organization.

  • Excellent communication skills, customer service orientation, teamwork and collaboration.

  • Advanced knowledge in the biopsychosocial model, knowledge of contemporary pain science education and best practice care guidelines for the management of knee and hip osteoarthritis.

  • Experience or a willingness to participate in clinical trial management, in supporting clinical trials, and in working in a research-intensive environment.

  • Knowledge of ICH Guidelines and Good Clinical Practice is desitable

  • Experience with virtual care platform and clinical care health system will be an advantage

  • Willingness to participate in training and development initiatives as part of the clinical trial including workshops, clinical observation and feedback and team based reflective group discussions.
