Meet the DevOps team
The DevOps team is at the forefront of our operations, working collaboratively to support all our products. Over our decade-long journey on AWS, we have grown our workload from a handful of EC2 instances to a platform supporting hundreds of containerized workloads across multiple accounts and regions. You will be part of an established, talented and friendly team who will train and mentor you in both general AWS DevOps skills and practices, as well as bespoke in-house tools. This team is dedicated to supporting each other to achieve great results. We enjoy an excellent relationship with AWS and have direct access to Technical Managers, Solutions Architects and Subject Matter Experts to make sure we are delivering the highest standard of infrastructure.

What you'll do
As our newest DevOps Engineer you'll support multiple Dev teams in all things AWS. This will include everything from permission requests, maintenance and troubleshooting of AWS Infrastructure, to the delivery of apps and services that span multiple AWS Services, accounts, and regions. Your day-to-day might look like this:

  • Actioning tickets assigned to you via JIRA. Examples of tickets include:
    • New Service Requests – Deploying new apps, sites, services (ECS, EC2, Lambda, CloudFront/S3, etc.) using custom in-house tools and CICD tools (TeamCity, CodePipeline) into multiple AWS accounts and Regions
    • Troubleshooting – Working together with developers to resolve permissions issues, network access issues, build and deployment errors, application level errors, etc
  • Incident response to Production incidents during business hours, escalating when needed
  • Involvement with DevOps team projects to improve existing architecture, enhance security and meet best practices
  • Creating and maintaining documentation of internal processes
  • Designing and implementing automations to remove manual tasks and improve security
  • Investigating the latest DevOps best practices, services and tools
  • On-call rotation for service outages outside business hours (approximately 1 week in every 10)
