Maintenance and farm hand
About the Role:
We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as a Maintenance and farm hand at Spring Creek Barramundi. In this role, you will assist with the maintenance and repairs of our plant and equipment, ensuring smooth operations and maximizing productivity.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be part of our small maintenance team. Together, you will coordinate and conduct routine maintenance of our machinery and farm infrastructure, developing planning strategies for future equipment needs.
Our Barramundi farm has a range of equipment, including excavators, dump trucks, forklifts, 4WD vehicles, tractors, and general farm machinery.
On the job training can and will be provided but some key traits that we do value are:

Mechanically minded with experience with small engines and four wheel drives

Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Knowledge of electrical systems, including troubleshooting 12V and 24V systems.

Competence in operating and maintaining essential farm equipment.

Ability to safely and effectively use power tools.

Strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Ability to display initiative and work autonomously when needed.

Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Attention to detail and strong communication skills.

A hands-on, can-do attitude towards machinery and maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance and repairs of farm equipment under the direction of the maintenance manager

Work a 40-hour week on a 5 days on, 2 days off roster and will include one weekend day.

Be available for paid on-call duties for one weekend a month

Vegetation management including tractor slashing, mowing, brush cutting and poisoning

Road maintenance involving the use of machinery

Someone with a keen attitude to learning and developing their skill set

Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance and repairs of farm infrastructure.
Position Requirements:

Current Driver's License.

Current Construction White Card (must be obtained if not already held).

Current First Aid Certificate (must be obtained if not already held).

Forklift (must be obtained if not already held).

Telehandler (must be obtained if not already held)
