Position Overview:
Women’s Health Tasmania (WHT) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its multidisciplinary team in promoting women’s health, managing provision of health services and advancing the organisation’s mission across the state. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to lead a respected not-for-profit organisation that is committed to equity, choice, and influence through an intersectional feminist lens.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic, visionary leader with strong financial acumen, high emotional intelligence, expert stakeholder engagement skills, and a commitment to the values and feminist mission of the organisation.
The CEO will work closely with the Board, staff, and key stakeholders to consolidate a period of significant organisational growth. A key focus of the role will be finding creative and entrepreneurial solutions to navigate a dynamic funding environment, as well as providing adaptive, agile leadership to a dedicated and diverse team.

Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership and strategy: Provide strategic direction and visionary leadership to the organisation, ensuring alignment with WHT’s mission, vision, and values.
• Team leadership: Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture.
• Impact and influence: Represent WHT at local, state, and national forums to strategically drive and influence the conversation regarding women’s health in Tasmania. Create tangible impacts within the sector and broader community.
• Stakeholder engagement: Lead the development of key relationships with stakeholders, including government, business, and not-for-profit organisations, and the broader community, to further the organisation’s impact.
• Operational oversight: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring that organisational goals are met effectively and efficiently, while maintaining compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Emotional intelligence and communication: Demonstrate emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills, cultivating an environment where empathy, trust, and respect are central to organisational ways of working.
