HSS is a market leading technical recruitment and labour hire company specialising in the delivery of high quality personnel to the Civil, Mining, Oil & Gas and Resource sectors.
Our client, based in Collie , is currently looking for Shotfirers preferrably with experience in the operation of heavy mining equipment, to ensure production outcomes are achieved in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
As a Shotfirer you will be responsible for checking blasting areas to ensure safety requirements are met; establishing exclusion zones in and around the blast area; connecting and testing or expecting the blasting circuit; fire charges; inspecting blasting area to ensure all explosives have detonated whilst adhering to company policies, procedures and applicable legislation.
Experience/Qualifications
- Demonstrated mine site experience on similar below equipment desirable
- WA Shotfirers License essential
- Valid WA “C” class Driver’s Licence essential
- Heavy Rigid Driver’s Licence desirable
- Certificate III in Surface Extraction desirable
- WA Dangerouse Goods desirable
- Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical and drug screen
Equipment on Site
- Komatsu Dump Trucks and Loaders
- Caterpillar & Komatsu Watercarts, Graders, Loaders
- Caterpillar & Liebherr Dozers
- Liebherr Excavators
Roster/Pay Rate
- 4 days on 4 days off (approx. 36 hours per week with overtime available)
- Drive in / Drive out daily
- Must live or have accommodation within an hour's drive of Collie
- Casual contract with opportunity for permanency
- $70* per hour flat rate on all hours (*$57.94 casual rate, plus $12.06 temporary allowance)
