Our Economy and Prosperity Department has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Departmental Administration Officer, based in Moranbah, to join the team on a fixed term, full time basis.
The role provides high level administrative, project management and business support to the Manager Economy and Prosperity, and the Department as a whole. While the position primarily reports to the Manager Economy and Prosperity, it also has an accountability reporting line to the Executive Coordinator PECS for the standards of administrative, reporting and financial/procurement process rigor within the Department, and to ensure appropriate gatekeeping for and compliance with these standards are being maintained.
For this position we offer:
  • $86,736.17 - $93,628.40 per annum (Stream A, Level 4 - 5)
  • Fixed Term Contract until Monday 6 July 2026.
  • Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight
  • RDO (Rostered Days Off) in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
  • 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
  • Up to 14% super in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement

About You:
We are seeking an enthusiastic person who possesses:
  1. Demonstrated experience in delivery of core office administration functions for a technical services team, including letter preparation, preparation of corporate documents, meeting minutes, compiling memos, email management, photocopying, general financial processes and spread sheeting is essential.
  2. Experience in an administrative leadership or coordination role providing high level administrative, process, project and governance support to a technical services or executive team.
  3. Ideally Vocational qualifications in Business Administration, Project Management and/or Local Government.
  4. Knowledge and skills in delivery of high level administrative, project and governance support to technical teams in a local government context.
  5. High level skills in the use of computer systems and software in delivery of administrative and technical support services.
