The Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Chemist to join our team at our Bacchus Marsh in regional Victoria. This full-time position will support our research, development, and production teams working on low-carbon lime, cement processes, alumina, iron, steel processes as well as other advanced material applications.

The successful candidate will be involved in laboratory-based and pilot-scale chemical analysis and testing activities, playing a key role in the advancement of Calix's cutting-edge environmental technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct chemical and physical analysis of materials using techniques such as XRD, ICP, SEM, and TGA

Support research and product development activities related to sustainable lime, cement, iron, steel, alumina and other mineral processes

Prepare and present reports based on laboratory results and experimental data

Work collaboratively with engineering and operations teams

Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and quality standards

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field

Minimum of two years' relevant experience in laboratory, industrial, or R&D settings

Experience with a range of analytical instrumentation and laboratory techniques

Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
