Hours per fortnight: 32 Hours

The Role

The Lactation Consultant will work within the broader Women’s & Children’s Services team providing care and education for women during pregnancy, the immediate postnatal period and post discharge (up to 6 weeks post birth).

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing education and support to all areas within Bendigo Health where required.


As our expert in your field you will hold a leadership role within the midwifery team, role modelling the values of Bendigo Health and exemplifying patient-centred care. In collaboration with the NUM you will maintain the efficient and effective operational management and coordination of the service. You will strive for an exceptional standard care, patient satisfaction, administration and multidisciplinary team relationships.

To succeed in this role, you will be a confident people leader. You will support when required the NUM to train, supervise, develop and inspire the team and provide a physically and psychologically safe workplace.

Your New Division

The Clinical Operations Division encompasses acute, allied health, cancer, dental and mental health services. We provide a wide range of general medical, surgical and specialty services including but not limited to; Oncology, Cardiology, Renal, Emergency, Women’s and Children’s, Critical Care, Specialist Clinics, Cancer Clinics and Mental Health Services. Our Allied Health teams provide a diverse range of programs and person centred care in inpatient, outpatient, community, home and residential care settings.
