Position Overview
MSS Security is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Shuttle Driver/Walking Patrol Security Officer to join our security team at the University of Newcastle - Callaghan Campus. This role involves rotating between two key responsibilities: driving a shuttle bus around campus and to nearby suburbs, as well as conducting high-visibility walking patrols across designated pathways and main campus areas. The ideal candidate will be proactive, approachable, and committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Shuttle Driver (Rover) :
- Drive a shuttle bus around campus and within nearby suburbs, picking up and dropping off students upon request.
- Maintain safety and professionalism while interacting with students and staff during transport.
- Walking Patrol (Static/Rover) :
- Conduct high-visibility patrols on foot across designated campus pathways and areas.
- Carry out static patrols at peak times near bus stops, crossings, and other key locations.
- Assist with escort requests, unlocking doors, and supporting the rover team where needed.
- Option to use mountain bikes for patrols.

Requirements
- Valid NSW driver's license
- Security License
- First aid and CPR
- Ability to handle a variety of security-related tasks
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to safety
- Ability to remain calm and focused in dynamic situations
