Job Description
BESIX Watpac are looking for a Workplace Health Safety Environment (WHSE) Coordinator to join our NSW Construction team in delivering a major hospital project in Shellharbour. Duties will include;

Undertake WHSE duties as directed by the WHSE Advisor and Site Manager consistent with the requirements of the BESIX Watpac HSE Management Systems.

Proactively drive company safety, environment and quality policies, practices and procedures in compliance with Management Plans and OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.

Assist with the development and implementation of the Project Safety Management Plan.

Assist in the review of Safe Work Method Statements or equivalent provided by the subcontractors prior to commencement of work.

Facilitate the dissemination of health safety environment information to all relevant personnel.
Qualifications
The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

Qualifications in OHS, Safety, Environment or a related discipline.

Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business with a particularly strong internal customer focus.

Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision-making skills.

Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
-
Proven high level of professionalism, maturity, candour, and confidentiality in daily work ethic.
-
Ability to deliver small training sessions on subject expertise such as Safety Inductions, Critical Incident Management etc.

Occupational First Aid is desirable.

Computer skills (intermediate) including the use of Microsoft Office.
