Description:
Belmont North Preschool Incorporated is a small, well established community based preschool which has been operating in our local community for over 30 years. We cater for up to 28 children each day from 3-5 years of age.
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced and passionate Diploma Qualified Educator to replace one of our retiring educators who has provided over 20 wonderful years of service.
This is a permanent part-time position to be worked Monday to Thursday 8.30am-4pm from the start of Term 3 2025 (Monday 21st July 2025).
Our preschool operates during school terms only and school holidays throughout the year are paid closure periods. Annual leave is accrued & taken over the Christmas closure period.

Essential Requirements

Minimum Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (ACECQA approved qualification);

Current industry relevant First Aid, Asthma & Anaphylaxis & Child Protection training certification;

Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role - preferably working with children 3 to 5 years in an early childhood setting;

The capability to engage children through experiences and conversations appropriate for their developmental stage;

Ability to build respectful, equitable and genuine relationships with children and families;

Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and demonstrated strong work ethic to work with, and relate to others in a small team;

High level written skills and demonstrated ability in regard to documentation, reflection, and planning;

Sound working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards and the ability to implement understandings practically;

Sound knowledge and understanding of child protection legislation and requirements;

As a service committed to upholding the Child Safe Standards, any prospective employee must hold a current Working with Children Check and be willing to complete a Prohibition Notice for Prospective Staff Members.
