About the Company

Our client, a respected organisation operating across diverse sectors, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Talent Manager to join their People & Culture team. This permanent role, based onsite in Cairns, offers the opportunity to drive meaningful impact in talent acquisition and workforce planning within a purpose-driven environment.
About the Role

Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager – People, Culture & Community, the Talent Manager will lead the end-to-end management of talent acquisition, ensuring the organisation attracts, hires and retains top-tier talent aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
You will play a pivotal role in sourcing high-calibre candidates, developing and maintaining talent pipelines, and promoting the organisation as an employer of choice through effective employer branding strategies. You’ll also support broader talent management initiatives, including succession planning, early careers engagement, and workforce development.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment – Design and deliver effective talent acquisition strategies, manage the full recruitment lifecycle, and ensure an exceptional candidate experience.
  • Partner with stakeholders – Work closely with hiring managers to align recruitment with workforce needs, providing coaching and support throughout the selection process.
  • Drive talent and workforce planning – Monitor labour market trends, maintain the Employee Value Proposition, and support succession planning and internal mobility.
  • Champion employer branding – Represent the organisation at career events, lead early careers and alumni initiatives, and promote the employer brand across platforms.
  • Ensure compliance and continuous improvement – Maintain defensible hiring practices, manage recruitment-related risks, and leverage data and metrics to inform decisions.
About You

You are a proactive and relationship-driven recruitment professional who takes pride in delivering outstanding candidate and stakeholder experiences. Curious, commercially aware, and future-focused, you're ready to play a key role in shaping a dynamic and capable workforce.
Skills and Experience required

Essential:
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition (in-house or agency).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and candidate care focus.
  • Well-developed communication skills and professional judgement.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Curious, proactive and commercially minded.
Desirable:
  • Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in broader talent management initiatives.
