Role Overview
As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of our Hospitality and Retail operations, ensuring profitability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You’ll oversee end-to-end operations, ensuring efficiency, and effectiveness, and inspire, mentor, and develop a team of passionate individuals driving a strong organisational culture based on accountability, trust and high performance. You will drive the development and implementation of business plans and strategic initiatives for our entire visitor experience offering including retail, café, and tourism experiences working closely with the extended leadership teams and finance and marketing teams.

You’ll have proven experience in a senior leadership role – or be ready to take the next step – with strong leadership skills and a track record of building high-performance teams and fostering a positive, customer-focused culture.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need strong business acumen and demonstrated experience leading teams in retail, tourism or hospitality environments. You’re strategic, operationally savvy and not afraid to get hands-on when needed. Your ability to multi-task, prioritise and lead by example will be just as important as your collaborative approach and calm under pressure

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee café, retail, events and tourism operations at the Visitor Experience Centre
- Lead and develop a passionate team across all functional areas
- Set and achieve revenue, profitability, and visitor growth targets
- Ensure compliance with licensing, safety and quality standards
- Collaborate on marketing, promotions, and brand experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service and drive continuous improvement
- Contribute to business planning, budgeting and strategic initiatives
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Strong leadership background in hospitality, retail, or tourism
- Experience managing budgets, teams, and customer service outcomes
- Business acumen with a track record of delivering results
- Comfortable working flexibly, including weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of WHS, compliance, and operational systems
- Passionate about food, tourism, and delivering memorable experiences
