Our Trade & Working Capital team supports domestic and international trade related and working capital needs of our customers. Trade & Working Capital is a core Business Bank offering for our customers, providing solutions to access working capital, manage trade related risk and improve overall corporate efficiency for shareholders.

As part of the Trade & Working Capital distribution team you will contribute to our vision by growing market share through the origination of new business across your allocated BB customer segment – Commercial Bank. You will establish new external networks and foster existing ones. You will work closely with customers and bankers to provide the right solutions and influence mutually beneficial outcomes. By being truly customer obsessed, your objective will be to grow the number of customers who consider the Commonwealth Bank as their Business Bank of choice.

As our Senior Trade & Working Capital Specialist, you will:

  • Leverage your networks and referral partners to win new to bank business to grow market share.
  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships, especially with relationship bankers to increase the relevance and penetration of Trade & Working Capital to the existing customer base.
  • Be truly customer obsessed and build strong relationships with new customers to obtain their business through excellent customer service and delivery on their needs.
  • Drive deal execution with proven skills in origination, structuring and negotiating of complex Trade and Working Capital solutions.
  • Pro-active business development to ensure a significant opportunity pipeline is maintained and importantly transactions executed to deliver on customer needs.
  • Identify and promote new growth initiatives and pathways for the specific customer segments.
  • Consider a customer’s needs holistically and identify cross sell of other products and services to fulfil those needs and enhance their overall experience.
  • Manage deal quality and structuring to ensure the customer portfolio and new business development is in line with the strategic objectives of the business of sustainable growth.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • A strategic thinker with the ability to represent our strategy
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in banking, in a business development/sales role incorporating either cash flow lending, receivables finance, structured trade, working capital or and trade finance.
  • Ability to drive business outcomes and lead initiatives from strategy through to completion
  • A demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders
  • High level of problem solving capability
  • Strong financial analytical skills with the ability to understand complex financial data and recommend appropriate financial structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to build lasting customer relationships as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Business or Finance related Degree or Diploma
