About the Program
Formed by the Department of Defence, Saab Australia, BAE Systems Australia, and Lockheed Martin Australia, the CSI-IPT is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between Defence and three industry partners. The CSI-IPT ensures the seamless integration of complex naval combat systems, including the coordination of sensors, weapons, communications, and command systems to function as a cohesive network.

About the role
Lockheed Martin is seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as a Combat Systems Technician. Based on skills and experience, include SQQ-89 and Hawklink Technician, Aegis C&D Technician, Aegis SPY/FCS Technician, Aegis FMS Sensors Technician, and Aegis MMPS Technician.
Initially working from Mawson Lakes, SA, then the Osborne Ship Yard, The Combat Systems Technician will be providing network and system support on-board Hobart Class platforms during the ship test programs.
The primarily responsibilities may include:
- Network Maintenance - You will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the complex network infrastructure onboard Hobart Class platforms during ship test programs.
- Technical Support - Provide comprehensive technical support for the operation and maintenance of the Aegis Combat System (ACS)
About you:
- Although experience in Aegis Combat System is desirable, transferable skills in other relevant Combat Systems will be highly regarded.
- Certificate III or above in a relevant discipline (electronics, electrical, mechatronics or similar) and/or equivalent relevant experience
- Ability to travel for 6-8 weeks for training in the US, May 2026
- Proven expertise in managing and maintaining complex network infrastructures.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving networking issues onboard naval platforms.
- Familiarity with ship test programs and land-based/training site operations is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, radar systems, sensor or sonar systems, radio/communications or data transmission, and data management.
